Accessory Dwelling Units, Sustainable Solutions, AARP's ADU Model State Act and Local Ordinance, and How NIMBYISM Stifles Community Growth with Dr. Rodney Harrell and Alderman Brooks Schandelmeier

Maryland REALTORS® CEO, Chuck Kasky is joined by Brooks Schandelmeier, Alderman of Annapolis and Dr. Rodney Harrell, Vice President of AARP's Policy Institute to discuss Affordable Dwelling Units (ADUs), as a creative and efficient solution to many of the housing issues faced by Marylanders and citizens around the country (approx. 90%  of the U.S. lags behind in ADU legislation).

Local ordinances also prevent ADUs from becoming more of a potential reality as the rigid requirements placed on developers and/or homeowners make it difficult, financially or even structurally, to build in a streamlined process which results in a gridlocked market  with little to no options for consumers.

Listen and learn more about the future of housing  and how ADUs can serve as just one solution for the current and future housing issues.
